What Was The Top Resolution For North Carolina Residents?

Clearly, North Carolina residents were hoping to get out of the house in 2024. “Travel More” ranked as the state’s top New Year’s resolution. You won’t have to go anywhere for North Carolina sports betting coverage because it’s all right here at BetCarolina.com.

If you want to travel next year, but aren’t sure where, consider booking a trip around the world to Japan. One of the last countries to welcome back tourists in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, Japan was recently named as the top travel destination of 2024 in a Condé Nast reader’s poll.

Other Goals For The New Year

Next up, the second most common resolution is to “save money.” North Carolinians who successfully adhered to this resolution may be enjoying a nice return this year — that is, if they invested in the stock market. All three of America’s major stock indexes have seen major gains in 2024, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average up over 17% so far this year, the S&P 500 up 28%, and the Nasdaq Composite gaining a whopping 35%.

The next two most popular New Year’s resolutions are interrelated — “read more” (No. 3) and “learn more” (No. 4). If you are eying these goals yourself, consider heading to GoodReads, the popular website for tracking books and sharing reviews. The site recently announced the results of its annual poll of readers (https://www.goodreads.com/choiceawards/best-books-2024), with “The Anxious Generation” by Jonathan Haidt named the top non-fiction book of the year. This deeply researched tome about the harmful impact of smart phones and social media on young people is a great starting point for reading and learning resolutions alike.

Finally, “lose weight” rates as North Carolina’s fifth-most popular New Year’s resolution. It’s a supremely relatable aspiration, but let’s remember to keep save this one for the New Year. After all, losing weight is the last thing anyone wants to worry about over the holiday season.
