The Carolina Panthers playoff chances are very dim for the 2024-25 NFL season and the franchise is firmly enmeshed in an ongoing rebuild. So it’s worth wondering whether the team will opt to deal veterans like 28-year-old wide receiver Diontae Johnson.
The former Toledo receiver has done his part for the struggling Panthers in his first season since he arrived in Carolina. He has 30 receptions for 357 yards and three touchdowns, leading the team in all three categories and building on an 84-game NFL career where he has accumulated an approximate value of 36, per Pro-Football-Reference.com.

Outside of them, keep an eye on fellow wide receiver-needy NFL clubs such as the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, who both check in at +650 to land the Panthers pass catcher. Longshot teams to remember include the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at +900, the Pittsburgh Steelers (+1100) and the Los Angeles Chargers (+1500).
