What Is the Most Recognizable NFL Logo?

Fact Checked by Jim Tomlin

After losing Super Bowl 50 nine years ago, the Carolina Panthers have largely become a forgettable team.

They last made the playoffs in 2017. That’s also the last time they finished with a winning record, and since that 2017 season, Carolina has played a total of 10 primetime games. This past season, they were the only NFL team to not get a Thursday, Sunday or Monday night game.

But despite all the recent futility, it turns out a lot of people still know the Panthers logo. So they have that going for them.

BetCarolina.com, in addition to offering the best NC sports betting promos, wanted to know which NFL logos are most iconic and recognizable. We used a quiz from Sporcle.com and, based on the percentage of people who could correctly identify NFL logos within the time limit, we created this ranked list.

The 2024-25 NFL season is over, but our North Carolina sports betting coverage never stops at BetCarolina.com.

Having the fifth-most recognized logo in a quiz that has been played more than 1.1 million times is something that you can hold over your friends who are Philadelphia Eagles fans. They are celebrating a Super Bowl win, but fewer people could identify them by their logo than the Panthers.

Future Brighter For Carolina Panthers?

Coming off a 2-15 season in 2023, the Panthers and quarterback Bryce Young showed some improvement this past season. Young lost his starting job after just two games, but the Panthers under Andy Dalton continued to struggle, managing only one win in their first eight games.

Young regained his first-string role after Dalton suffered injuries in a car crash, and the Panthers went 4-5 the rest of the way to finish 5-12. Two of those losses were to the Super Bowl LIX teams, the Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, and both of those were by six points or less.

The Panthers still have some work to do to convince oddsmakers they can contend. BetMGM North Carolina Sportsbook lists Carolina at +15000. Three other teams – the Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders and New Orleans Saints – have the same odds, and only the Tennessee Titans and New York Giants (both +20000) have longer odds.

Next season’s schedule appears to be easier for Carolina at first glance. Their AFC opponents in 2024 included the four teams from the AFC West, three of which made the playoffs, and the Cincinnati Bengals, who were eliminated from postseason contention in Week 17.

In 2025, their interconference opponents come from the AFC East, which featured just one playoff team, plus the AFC South’s Jacksonville Jaguars, who are coming off a 4-13 campaign.

Should the Panthers show considerable improvement in 2025, then Young might become an NFL Most Valuable Player candidate. His odds for next season’s trophy are +8000 at FanDuel NC Sportsbook as of Feb. 20.
