The 2024 presidential race has seen various changes to betting odds as the election process continues to move forward. Former President Donald Trump has recently emerged as the overwhelming betting favorite at -110, with current Commander in Chief Joe Biden at +140. Trump's odds slightly shortened after his win at the Iowa Caucus in mid-January, which saw Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley finish second and third, respectively.
Haley, the former South Carolina governor, as recently as January had the third-best odds to win at +650 heading into the caucus, overtaking Gavin Newsom. But Haley's odds have significantly lengthened since, going from +650 to now +5000. The South Carolina native's campaign is simply running out of steam after initially announcing her intention to run for president as a GOP member in February 2023.
Haley in late November hit the trail in South Carolina, just days after Trump heard boos from the crowd at the Clemson-South Carolina football game. And gain ground on the heavy favorite she did. Her campaign received a massive boost from the Koch Network, the political group founded by brothers Charles and David Koch. The group endorsed Haley on Tuesday, Nov. 28 and should have provided an influx of financial heft to battle Trump for the Republican nomination; several other Republican contenders have dropped out, including DeSantis.
On Feb. 3, Haley made a surprise appearance on NBC's "Saturday Night Live," turning up the rhetoric against Trump in a mock CNN town hall. Her harshest joke included saying Trump "might need a mental competency test."
But with Haley's odds now at +5000, she now trails Trump, Biden, Michelle Obama (+1400), Robert Kennedy Jr. (+2200) and Newsom (+4000). Barring a remarkable comeback, she likely will drop out of the race in the near future.
Political odds are not available for wagering across North Carolina sports betting, but BetCarolina.com will keep you up to date throughout the 2024 political race to the Oval Office.
Haley will likely be running against candidates with a wealth of experience in dealing with the rigors of the presidential election process. Haley’s toughest competition to gain the GOP nomination is obviously former President Donald Trump, who has become the heavy frontrunner to secure the Republican nomination and become the next president for 2024.
Trump is currently the favorite to win the 2024 U.S. presidential election at -110 betting odds.
The Trump administration has Haley on the ropes in the primaries.
The Haley campaign faces an extremely uphill battle to secure the presidency in 2024 as her odds (+5000) continue to get longer as the election approaches. Haley faces stiff competition among Republican voters for the seat but could increase her chances through campaigning, endorsements, and debates throughout the election process.
Donald Trump announced his intention to run for President back in November 2022, giving the former President ample opportunity to garner the attention of constituents nationwide. Trump has emerged as not only a strong candidate but is the betting favorite at -110. He is ahead of his familiar foe President Joe Biden, who sits at +140 odds. Trump is projected to secure the Republican nominee for President but could lose his position given how unpredictable his rhetoric is in the election process.
Haley first announced her intention to run for President earlier this year and has since taken steps to improve her chances of winning. The former United States Ambassador to the United Nations has made the effort to expand her reach through media appearances on various outlets, including Fox News. Haley has also put herself directly against other presidential candidates by participating in debates against other Republican hopefuls at the time. The Nov. 8 debate, which was hosted by NBC News, was won by Haley, according to a Washington Post poll.
Haley also improved her chances of securing the Republican nomination with a town hall in Bluffton, South Carolina, on Nov. 27. Haley served as Governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017. She finished third in the GOP Iowa Caucus on Jan. 15 and second in the New Hampshire primary on Jan. 23.
However, since early February, Haley has lost ground to Michelle Obama, Gavin Newsom and Robert Kennedy Jr. in the polls.
According to bet365 North Carolina, Nikki Haley’s chances to be elected president in 2024 are still slim given her current odds compared to Trump and Biden. Haley’s current odds at +5000 give her an implied probability to win of 2%. If unsuccessful in 2024, Haley could become an intriguing candidate for the 2028 election due to her familiarity with the presidential election and nomination process.
Bettors in the United States are unable to place wagers on any government election due to political betting in any capacity being prohibited. However, sportsbooks with licensed authorization outside the U.S. — including bet365 — offer betting odds for the 2024 U.S. Presidential election.
Bet365, which has secured licenses in several jurisdictions across America, is currently offering 2024 presidential odds in both the United Kingdom and Canada. As of March 28, Nikki Haley has the sixth-best odds at +5000 to secure a 2024 presidential win.
In late November, bet365 expanded its North American reach in a deal with the NBA's Charlotte Hornets.
The current presidential odds are an indication of the likelihood a candidate has to secure the seat in 2024. The odds are the ratio between the money a bettor risks and the potential payout by a betting operator.
Former President Donald Trump has emerged as the top challenger against Nikki Haley due to his ability to secure the Republican nomination for the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Haley will need to edge out Trump to secure the nomination in 2024 but faces another tough challenge in President Joe Biden, who has emerged as the favorite to secure the Democratic nomination.
