There aren’t many players across the men’s basketball landscape that have done more in their collegiate careers than North Carolina fourth-year starter R.J. Davis has during his run in Chapel Hill.
The 22-year-old New Yorker has exceeded the lofty expectations that followed him out of Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, where Davis was a member of the McDonald's All-American team after being named Mr. New York Basketball in 2020.
In three-plus years with the Tar Heels, Davis has averaged 14.5 points per game on 37.1% shooting. He also has postied 14.9 win shares across 124 contests with the Tar Heels.
Davis also surpassed Michael Jordan’s UNC scoring record against Clemson on Tuesday night, clocking in at 1,789 career points, putting him 15th on the Tar Heels’ all-time scoring list. Davis had 22 points in the Heels’ 80-76 home loss to the Tigers.
