Clemson Football Bowl Projections: Odds For Tigers’ 2024-25 Bowl Game

Fact Checked by Nate Hamilton

It’s been six years since the Clemson Tigers last climbed the mountain that is the modern college football schedule to bring home the program’s second CFP title in three years under head coach Dabo Swinney.

While it’d be shortsighted to describe the Tigers’ last half-decade as unsuccessful, the days of Clemson being a preseason favorite to reach the 12-team postseason event are in the past, it’s also worth wondering where Swinney and company go in the new era of CFB.

This year, the Tigers enter the season with a win total over/under on Bet365 North Carolina of 9.5, while holding the second-best ACC title odds in the expanded conference at +350.

Ahead of Clemson’s much anticipated season opener against Georgia on Aug. 31, BetCarolina.com broke down some hypothetical odds on which bowl games the Tigers could wind up playing in this fall.

Since Swinney’s arrival at Clemson in 2009, the Tigers have played in a bowl game each year but have never appeared in a few of the ACC’s longstanding postseason contests, such as the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, as with the Pinstripe Bowl in The Bronx and Charlotte’s Duke’s Mayo Bowl.

We currently have the San Diego bowl game staple as our top spot for Clemson in 2024, at +300, while Orlando’s Pop-Tarts Bowl comes in at +400 and the Pinstripe and Duke’s Mayo bowls are listed at +600 each.

Throw in a return to the CFP at +700 and you have the full rundown of the games that we see Swinney’s bunch playing in this bowl season, as Clemson hopes to make it back to the sport’s biggest event for the first time since 2019, when they lost to Joe Burrow and LSU in the title game.

The latter saw Clemson knocked off Mark Stoops and the Kentucky Wildcats, 38-35, while the Tigers beat Iowa State by a 20-13 margin in the 2021 Cheez-It Bowl.

Throw in losses to Tennessee (31-14) in the 2022 Orange Bowl, along with a 49-28 rout at the hands of Ohio State in the 2020 Sugar Bowl and you have the full scope of the Tigers’ bowl game results in the last five years.
