Charlotte FC is just entering its third season as an MLS franchise, but The Crown has proven to be one of the best franchises in the top-tier soccer league.
Once again, the franchise ranks second in average attendance, a spot it earned in the previous two seasons as well. This year, Charlotte FC is drawing 34,728 fans at Bank of America Stadium, and that figure only trails Atlanta United FC.
While people attend games because they’re interested in the team or the sport, fan safety is also an essential factor. A recent study by BetCarolina.com found North Carolina’s major league soccer team to be one of the safest in MLS.
With crime rising in many cities across the United States, BetCarolina.com took a break from North Carolina sports betting updates and created a ranking system to find the safest MLS stadiums for spectators. Our system factors in the crime rating, total crime index, fanbase ranking and crime grade. All metrics are based on the exact city and zip code of each team’s stadium or arena.
Our study found Bank of America Stadium is the 10th safest in MLS.

Charlotte FC MLS Odds
While Charlotte FC ranks among the most popular teams in MLS based on attendance, The Crown still has some work to do in terms of fielding a championship-caliber team. They made the playoffs last season, earning the ninth and last seed in the Eastern Conference before losing to the New York Red Bulls in the Wild Card round.
With nearly a third of the season complete, FC Charlotte currently finds themselves sixth in the MLS Eastern Conference with a 4-2-5 record and 14 points. However, oddsmakers at BetMGM North Carolina still have their doubts about The Crown’s chances for the title. Their odds to win the MLS Cup are +8000, tied with the Portland Timbers for the 21st out of the 29 teams in the league.
