One of the NBA’s most enigmatic young players is officially a free agent for the first time, as Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges explores how much he can get on the open market.
The 26-year-old was suspended for 30 games to start the 2023-24 season concerning a domestic abuse case that was dropped because Mecklenburg County prosecutors felt the case “would not be successful at trial,” because of Bridges’ ex-partner gave conflicting stories about the incident.
Bridges has a chance to increase his salary significantly from the $7.9 million he earned last season in the final year of his four-year, $16.3 million rookie deal that he signed as the 12th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
With that in mind, BetCarolina.com used our North Carolina sports betting mindset and broke down some hypothetical odds on which franchise could land Bridges’ services next, with the hometown Hornets holding overwhelming odds to keep the 26-year-old in the Queen City long term.

Where Will Miles Bridges Play Next?
It looks like Charlotte won’t have to find a new forward, as the Hornets have -425 odds of re-signing Bridges this offseason, ranking well ahead of the closest outside contender, in the Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies at +2500 apiece.
Longshot contenders to swoop in and sign Bridges include the Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings, who are co-listed at +3500 to land the Michigan State product this offseason.
Whichever team does ink Bridges long-term will have to justify adding a player with a long suspension and criminal charges on his record, but will likely justify it by selling fans on the way that the 26-year-old has played when he’s not in trouble since entering the NBA six years ago.
